My name is Benjamin Thomas Harknett

I was inspired to design a card game when I saw a father and child struggle to play Pokemon in the local game store, I myself didn't complete a game of Pokemon until I was 25!

Growing up, I enjoyed playing Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh! I collected the cards but never played the game.

I had fascination with Warhammer, but was tempered by its high cost, and the amount of time it would take to assemble and paint an army. This also fuels my desire to create more affordable gaming experience.

My gaming influences extend beyond trading card games to classic PS2 titles such as Gladius, Dynasty Tactics, and Space Hulk, which have shaped my approach to tactical gameplay and thematic immersion. Additionally, science fiction classics like Blade Runner, Star Trek, and Alien have heavily influenced my design decisions.

My goal is to develop a accessible yet engaging game that families especially dads and their young children can enjoy together. Detonation! was conceived with expandability in mind, allowing for future seasons and episodes, much like a TV series, to keep gameplay fresh and exciting over time.
